Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is the third version of the Battletoads game. It was released by Rare for the SNES home console. It has improved graphics, sound and mild violence. It is for 1 or 2 players simultaneously.
Story
Michiko and Zitz have been kidnapped by a pig under orders by Silas Volkmire. The pig comes out of a simulation by Psicone Systems and, riding a dragon, kidnap the both of them. Pimple and Rash must enter the system and save them from Volkmire and the Dark Queen.
Gameplay
This version has improved graphics and nice effects: the lava in the first stage, the perspective of the Clinger Winger-like stage (it uses SNES advanced use of several layers), the perspective of the motorcycle stage, among others.
It resembles the first Battletoads more than the second game: it has a motorcycle, a rat race, a Clinger-Winger-like level, a vulture pit and a tower. It is hard but not as hard as the first game, because this one has less levels. It does not have any warp levels for this reason.
It is a little more violent than previous games. Pimple attacks include hitting with a junk and stomping the enemies. The sound is superior to its predecessors.
